The latest update on yesterday's "excitement" didn't really tell me much more than I already knew. Apparently a guy jacked a taxi at gunpoint, led police on a merry chase down Capital Blvd and then hit a delivery van. In the ensuing scuffle, the perpetrator was shot twice by one of Raleigh's finest and another unit responding to the call got into a wreck on the way to the scene. The first incident took place (best I could tell) on the opposite corner of the block where my office is.
Funny, I don't recall hearing any gunfire. You'd think I'd have noticed something like that.Stumble This!

Glad you posted about that, I heard the breaking news on the radio while I was driving and meant to see what happened when I got home (I was working in Durham, far from the carnage).

Incidentally, Raleigh's new police chief moved from my hometown just before I did.
