55 Flash (Non) Fiction Friday #13: I Know Something (most of) You Don't Know

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for the following special announcement:

This Friday is a special occasion. Special enough that I'm giving my Punjabi heroine the week off (deal with it). Because today, 26th September, a special woman, and incredible human being is celebrating a birthday. If you're a regular to the 55 Flash Fiction world, you're already familiar with her work. If you participate in Wordless Wednesday, Thematic Photographic, Head or Tails, Through The Lens or occasionally Half-Nekkid Thursday you've seen her art.

I have had the privilege of seeing all of this, and having a few online discussions outside the blogosphere as well. And I can honestly say that Smoofus is one of the most fundamentally good people I've ever cyber-met. Besides being the one who introduced me to 55 Flash Fiction Friday, and encouraged me to join in it, she's been a source of encouragement, a friendly ear, and a trusted friend. I hope I've been half the friend to her that she's been to me.

I had to post this a little earlier than usual because our dear Smoofus is going out of town for the weekend in celebration, and I wanted to be sure she got the chance to revel in your adoration before she set off.

So read on, and when you're done go visit Smarmoofus, wish her a safe and wonderful trip... and the happiest birthday ever.

And from me, Smoofus... I give you all I can offer. These 55 are just for you.
With half a country and ahem years between them, he couldn't honestly say he knew her. He could however say that he admired her. Beating the odds, and knocking every pitch life threw her out of the park. He wanted to give her something special. But all he could come up with was fifty-five words.

M6Friday: 55FlashFiction Graciously hosted by G-ManStumble This!

Mojo, you know how I love words. And your words were lovely. The loveliest, even. Thank you for such a generous birthday wish. You've reduced me to sniffles and sheepish giggles.

And you have been the friend you hoped you were. Thank you for that, too.

I can easily say precisely the same thing about you. I blog because I want to be surrounded by people who inspire. I'm privileged to have crossed your AND her path.
