It's always interesting to see what Carmi will come up with for a theme. You never know what he'll do next. This week the theme is "Nature". I'm probably cheating a little here, because what you're looking at is actually leftovers from last week's "Cloesup" theme that I never got around to using. But nature is nature, right?

These came from my backyard after several days of rain. The variety of fungi that pops up when the weather gets wet never ceases to amaze me. I don't know what any of them are called, what type of fungi they are, or for that matter if they're even fungi at all. I just know they look cool. And what do we do with cool looking things? Well, I take pictures of them.

Hey Mojo!
This stuff grows in your back yard? I guess if I tried really hard I could maybe find some beauty in it?! Nice shots though, really. ;-)

WOW! They're very pretty! I saw 2 red mushrooms in my neighbor's yard last week, and by the time I got the camera and went back to shoot them, they were gone.

I'd totally hang these shots on my wall. They'd look great in a group.

Great shots mojo, I love taking photos of fungi, fungus, fungee?... oh, you know what I mean! and there are so many different kinds.

You know, at one time the Pharaohs decreed mushrooms 'for Royalty only'.... perhaps the plant of immortality?.... ahh, perhaps magik!

hi mojo,

'leftovers?'

we should all be so gifted.

my dad introduced me to ringed fungi, puffballs (fried with butter) and morels (washed very carefully, fried with butter) and taught me to watch where I was walking.

ringed fungi look like they're from another world or epoch, don't they?

cheers,

gord h.
