Thematic Photographic 20: "Blur" v.2.0

"Summer Night on Hillsborough Street"
Raleigh, NC - August 2008 (Click to embiggen)

Thematic Photographic hosted by Carmi - Button Image by Smarmoofus Hosted by Written Inc.

This shot kept bugging me, and I finally found a place for it where its "technical imperfection" doesn't matter. Fact is I like this shot. But it being a hand held night shot it's naturally going to have a little bit of camera shake and motion blur. Still, there's something about it that draws me, and I really wonder if I'd like it as well if it were knife sharp.

This was actually a pretty productive night for me photo-wise. In addition to the shot you see here, several others from the same run have graced my pages recently. The NCSU Bell Tower from last week, the September Wordsmith's Challenge prompt -- which also appeared in an earlier Thmatic Photographic, and you may recognize the "marquee" of Hillsboro Street Textbooks from an old Ruby Tuesday post.

I think the blur makes it more interesting--gives it character. :)

I love this shot. What great color. I like blurring in a lot of photos. Carmi has the right idea. He also has a wonderful blog.
