Ruby Tuesday #28: Bombs Bursting in Air

"Bombs Bursting at the Fair"
Raleigh, NC - October 2008 (Click to embiggen)

Ruby Tuesday - Are you red-dy? Hosted at

If you've spent any time at all on my blog, you know that one of my favorite photographic subjects is fireworks. These particular ones were on display on the final night of the NC State Fair in October. Weather permitting, there's a display every night of the fair, which runs for 10 days in early- to mid-October every year. But the final night is always the biggest display. After all, they have to use up everything they didn't shoot already!Violence Unsilenced

Your fireworks are always the best! Do you use a tripod? Maybe that's a dumb question, eh, Mojo? In my Ruby Tuesday post I want to know what the thingies/thingys hanging on the back of the benches are... :)

Who doesn't like fireworks? Norwegian dogs. They have to be sedated and stay in the cellar new years Eve.
Your picture as always star class!

Is it my birthday? ;-) My birthday is July 1, so it feels like it extends through the 4th of July. Love this one. And I'm so looking forward to summer; I can hardly breathe.

Ooh and Ahh are the spoken operatives at such fireworks displays. Your picture is of such ruby clarity that I can hear the resounding BOOM that follows...and I live 650 miles from RDU!

I have the worst time trying to take photos of fireworks. If it comes out good, I have no clue what, if anything I did to make it come out good, so I can never reliably replicate the results. Any crumbs of wisdom you might have to offer would be deeply appreciated!
