for me, purple is a lonely color. perfect as representation for Domestic Violence.

i honestly felt sad because i know two people close to my heart who are victims. it is painful because i feel very helpless pulling them out of the situation because they are not willing to get out of it.

Great photo, and thanks for the work you do spreading the word about domestic violence. I, too, have been affected by it. I now am an Avon representative, and one of the causes I support is Avon's Foundation, which raises funds for domestic violence awareness and support programs as well as shelters.

Purple cafe....cool.

And yes, I did know about the purple ribbons to make those aware of DV! Our daughter was in that kind of situation, and I'm a strong advocate.

Mine is posted now...if you can, come on over to say howdy!!! Happy Saturday to you.

Thanks for the link, and what a beautiful purple cafe. I particularly like the staircase, but what I really appreciate about your post is the awareness raising that you took the opportunity to do.

I did visit the site, and it made me sad. And angry. (but not violent!)

Blessed be. come see me at http://healingmagichands.wordpress.com/2009/04/18/photohunt-158-purple/

The color of the kind of awareness that all should look out for, not many are willing to talk about it even though they're victims.

Give those victims strength to walk forward in helping themselves :)

So now we know one more meaning for the color purple... Thanks for telling us that...

That photo is so purple... love the umbrellas ...

Stamping out domestic violence will take a grass - roots effort. I have worked with many victims. Thank you for passing the word.

Great purples, too.

Love your shot. I will have to remember this next time the brick wall around my shed needs to be painted.

I could see myself spending a lazy lunch at this cafe.

Amber Star said...

Lovely picture of the cafe....my husband is an alum of TCU, colors purple and white.

I went to the domestic violence website and was broken hearted to read of that young woman's suffering for so long. I started reading the one about the woman who had been pardoned for killing her father. It is hard to look at, but must be. Domestic violence is so frightening we must look.

PastormacsAnn said...

Looks like a lovely place to sit for a bite to eat or something refreshing to drink. Love all the green - really compliments the purple.

Thanks for the domestic violence info.
