Of course, you can't go to a car show without doing a few of the obligatory side view mirror shots. I liked this one because it caught the huge leverage multiplying steering wheel common on cars of this era that weren't equipped with power steering.The Impala wasn't Chevy's entry level mid-size (that would be the Biscayne) but it was still in the affordable range. In its day it was a practical (by 1960 standards) working car. It wasn't until years later that these would become "classic" cars.

I like the way the curve of the steering wheel *mirrors* the curve of the mirror. (Get it? Mirrors? I crack myself up...)

I grew up riding around in a 1973 Chevy Impala Wagon. (Longer and wider than a Chevy Suburban, I never did master parallel parking!)

I totally remember those steering wheels! Not that I ever drove such a car but my parents and grandparents had them a plenty. We were part of an Auto Club with I was a kid.
