This week's Thematic Madness is "Round" and no, my collection for the week does not include self portraits. What it does include are things that were lying around (no pun intended) within easy reach when I found out the theme for the week. It's amazing how many round things there are just sitting there waiting to be photographed. Take for instance my collection of souvenir hockey pucks. There are a handful that you can't see, but the important ones are the commemorative ones from the Hurricanes run to the Stanley Cup Championship in 2006 plus the one from Rod Brind'Amour Night when the Captain was honored for collecting 1000 career points (400 goals, 600 assists) and then just for laughs the SUNY Potsdam souvenir puck my son brought home from school when he attended there. (I say for laughs because the Bears hockey team was... not good). None of these will ever be the shot fired in anger, but they're certainly round enough!

I'm giggling because I said something similar about being round on my post. I saw my photo the other day and it took two glances -- to see it all. grrrrrrr
Seriously that is a very cool collection the only thing holding it back is the fact that is doesn't say the "Devils" vs Hurricanes on all of them I did see the one though!

My Canadian roots betray me here: this theme reminds me of everything that remains memorable and good in the world of professional and amateur sport. I grew up believing it was always done for the love of the game - which you've ably captured multidimensionally with your words and photo.
Alas, the Habs and Knights were both eliminated on the same night last week. So I must live through the successes of other cities for the next little while. Hope you don't mind!

These pucks remind me of my trip to Toronto back in 2001, I nearly bought one as a souvenier, but I can't think why I didn't.
