Thematic Photographic 57: "Distant" v.5.0

Cleveland has been the butt of more than a few jokes over the years. But I gotta tell ya, I really don't think its reputation is all too accurate. Granted I haven't spent that much time there, but from what I saw in my brief stay it's not nearly the soul-sucking pit of despair we've been led to believe. I could do without the lake effect snow, to be sure. But when you can effectively manage traffic with the Browns and the Indians both playing games at the same time (in stadiums not more than a mile or so apart) coupled with the normal traffic for the Great Lakes Science Center and the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame (which is where we were headed), you've got something figured out for sure. In most places I've been this would have been a recipe for certain disaster. But for downtown Cleveland it was just a minor slowdown. I was actually sorry we didn't have more time to spend there. And we didn't even get lost! (Despite the well-documented navigational challenges my sons are burdened with.)

Stumble This!

doesn't every country have towns/citiies with 'reputations' that aren't quite accurate.

Ehem... You mean I didn't get lost. Keep in mind that I selected the correct exit lane on the interstate without being prompted when we were going into Cleveland. I also seem to recall that we were both equally to blame for that mishap in Tennessee. And Boston was all YOUR fault, old man! :-P
