Thematic Photographic 69: "Transition" v.7.0 - Bonne Nuitt

"Pardon my (bad) French"
Raleigh, NC - August 2009 (Click to embiggen)

Thematic Photographic hosted by Carmi - Button Image by Smarmoofus (Normally) Hosted by Written Inc.

Note: Please take a moment to stop by the Written, Inc. and visit . And pay your respects to TP's creator, Carmi, on the sudden loss of his father. Best thoughts for you and your family Carmi.

Since I started this theme with a sunrise, it seemed only fitting to finish it with a sunset. The transiiton from day back to night. But rather than bring you one from the lake or the ocean or somewhere grand, I thought it important to acknowledge this one shot outside the PetSmart where the Tonka Unit and I were doing his grocery shopping. There's absolutely nothing romantic or dramatic about a strip mall or a pet supply superstore, and yet the same sun that sets over the vast Atlantic sets here as well. And sometimes in just as spectacular a fashion.

Your Turn: Got a photo to support the "Transition" theme? Feel free to share a link in the comments. If you're new to Thematic Photographic or just wondering how this works, you can find out all about it here or better yet, at TP's usual home.

I haven't actually discussed it with him but all indications are that Carmi will take at least another week off from hosting TP. Whether you know it or not, coming up with a photo to support a theme and having something to say to support the photo every day can be a bit of a challenge -- even if you're the one choosing the theme. And with all of the upheaval going on in the House of Levy right now with Carmi's father passing and Debbie's mother in hospital, it would be a stretch to try and focus enough energy on a photo meme. I'm hoping that by keeping the life support plugged in, TP will survive until its true master can return to tend it. So in that spirit I'll be guest hosting another week, and kicking off a new theme tomorrow (Wednesday, 7 October) at 7:00 PM EDT. And for those of you who want to play along at home, that new theme will be:

Hard

See you tomorrow. Until then, peace yo!

What a beautiful image - and you had your camera with you at Pet Smart! I'd be sitting there silently berating myself for having left mine at home for sure.
