Opie still shudders whenever he walks by the barbers. Even a candy cane gives him cold sweats.

@Klaatu: Yeah that Floyd was kinda creepy.

I don't think I have ever seen one of those except on television, thanks for sharing:)

I like this short barber pole. I don't see these often either, not in the usual red-white-blue nor especially in sepia. The old brick building offers a classic style, the look of the past that we rarely pass by these days...

We're actually watching Andy Griffith as I type. Very funny idea, Mojo.

You're right, they just aren't around anymore. And unlike the old guy my dad goes to for haircuts, my hubs goes to the sports place where chicks cut while he watches football or what not on tvs. :)

Floyd....You made me smile. I thought he was kind of harmless. It was those fillin' station guys had me nervous...

we still have a barber shop in town--I love your shot. If you want to wander down my road I’m home.

Mojo, It's a coincidence that I've seen 2 of those old-fashioned barber poles in the last week. And now your great photo! Love it! Thanks for participating in Sepia Scenes! :)
