Only one side has flags. If you have flags and shout "America!" then you're right. Trust me on this.

*rolleyes*

What she said, with a side dish of WWJD banners.

Good grief.

Yep. That one side is clearly flag deficient.

Gotta say Ms FB said it right

There were plenty of flags on both sides of the street, it's just easier to see the ones on the low-forehead side 'cause they're bigger. I guess they were compensating for something or whatever. But the one you can't see on top of the Capitol building (out of frame to the right) was bigger than anything they had. So there.

I love the composition of this shot. What a story in a blink of an eye.

Somewhat tangentially, the Ontarian in me is drawn to the police car. It's a Ford Crown Victoria, the last body-on-frame, V8-powered, North American-made car.

The Ford plant in Talbotville, just south of London and about a 20-minute drive from my house, is the last remaining place where these are made. It is, as you'd expect, a union shop. And it's slated to close this September, throwing the remaining 1,600 workers onto the unemployment lines.

I can't help but feel that the world has changed for the folks in Wisconsin, for the folks who built this car, for the folks walking around it, for all of us. And not necessarily for the better.

I wish I had answers. But the fact people are protesting is heartening all the same.
