55 Flash Fiction Friday #61: Prescience

Blue light reflected off the ceiling as the phone buzzed angrily on the nightstand. He flipped the annoyed device open and thumbed the buttons that would take him to the inbox where she waited. Through the haze of half-wakefulness he smiled as he read. How the hell did she always know just what to say?

    That was awesome Mojo! Isn't it funny how even though we are woken up and annoyed that a call from someone we want to hear cancels out anger.

    This is well done! I especially like the part about blue light reflecting off the ceiling. Very descriptive, and it helped to set the scene perfectly.

    How is it the phone wraps the right words in the wrong sound?

    I love the "blue light special" in my life. And I really enjoyed this piece.
