Thematic Photographic 55: "Cloudy" v.2.0

"Steel Gray Clouds"
Raleigh, NC - April, 2009 (Click to embiggen)

Thematic Photographic hosted by Carmi - Button Image by Smarmoofus Hosted by Written Inc.

Believe it or not, this photo was taken later in the same day as yesterday's offering. Not quite as peaceful looking, though the weather (which was wretched that day) kept the construction site across from my office shut down... so at least that was peaceful. I borrowed a cue from Carmi on this shot and tried to incorporate the power lines that I obviously couldn't avoid. You can decide for yoruself how well it worked.

I really like this shot. I like all of the lines and that the small intersecting lines of the machine cross through the wider intersecting lines of the wires. If it were my shot, I'd focus on the lines and crop it portrait style right down the middle and leave out the sign so that you just had nothing but the lines.

What a magnificent shot with all the lines crossing and the different sizes of lines.

LOL! What a MESS! I'm sorry.... *ashamed*... I hate power lines! I would LOVE that crane without the lines though! However... they're great clouds! :)

That is really cool. The dark lines with the grey background make it very striking - crisp and geometric - more chaos to me than mess as Melli feels.

We finally have sun in Boston so I feel I can look at gloomy skies without banging my head on my desk.

Stunning B&W!
I think it worked very well :)

It is a powerful shot to me!
And isn't interesting how fast the sky/clouds can change?

Like the temper of a human.

I love the lines. It's hard to believe that there's a plan in all of their intersecting and overlapping. Yet somehow they keep out of each other's way and get the job done.
