Thematic Photographic 3: "Glass" v.1.0 - Thematic Photographic? I'm not sure exactly how this works...

"Chapel of Steel"
Bethlehem, PA - November 2005 (Click to embiggen)

Thematic Photographic hosted by Carmi - Button Image by Smarmoofus Hosted by Written Inc.

But I've got just the thing. This shot came from the abandoned Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem, PA back in 2005. If you want the full explanation of "Thematic Photographic" Carmi can explain it better.

Very nice. I enjoy abandoned things a little more than one probably ought to. I'd love to explore/photograph an abandoned steel plant.

@Mark: If you're interested a couple of people have done essays on Bethlehem Steel. Mine you can find at http://brandenburg3.com/Gallery/index.html
Under "The Bethlehem Project Part II".
Part I was more about the town itself, Part II was exclusively the mill.

This is EXACTLY how it works...and I'm thrilled you dove right into it.

This photo is marvellous. I'm a huge fan of urban ruins, and your work captures the essence beautifully.

Funny you should mention next week's theme: I've gotten such great feedback from this week's theme that I've already started mulling over what the next one should be. I'm definitely feeling a little weight on my shoulders here...but it's all good weight!

I've been grooving with my lens over the past week or so - the new feature is definitely inspiring me to get out more - so I have no doubt I'll come up with something fun and challenging.

Thank you for being a part of this. It's a thrill to share in this way!

You'd think something so aged and falling apart would look desolate. But I just want to explore. This is a beautiful shot.

very dramatic and interesting to look at....

you can see right away that the missing panes denote abandonement.... i like the tree limbs reflected in the glass.... the light also adds so much to this...

a great choice for the glass theme, i really liked.

@Carol: The tree limbs aren't a reflection, the roof is pretty much gone from this building and there are small trees (and other vegetation) actually growing inside it. Or what used to be inside it at least. I thought there was something symbolic in that. As if the Earth were reclaiming what we borrowed from her.

Great Shot...if walls could talk...something about old abandoned buildings, makes me wonder what happened.

This photo is great! I love abandoned buildings. There is an air of sacredness in the picture.
