Was this scheduled to appear, or did I wake you up again? I really did try to be quiet this time. I like it, too... that bold splash of red against all the muted grays and black. It makes a statement. With an exclamation point.
No, you didn't wake me... It was already on the schedule, so it just appeared as if by magic. I never thought much about why I liked it, but now that you mention it it is kinda "Schindler's List-y".
@Karen: Actually she's a singer, not a dancer (though she's got some pretty good moves). This shot is from the same show as the one in the post right below it (and the one before that too...). I think the leg warmer thing was just a retro accent since they do several 80's covers. Or maybe that was just Kat being Kat, who knows?
@Bimbo: I'm starting to think maybe there's something to that idea of isolated color. Maybe that's why I like the shot so much.
Yeah, that's it... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
No reason needed. It speaks for itself! I love this shot.
Re my aperture on my WW foxglove, it was shot a 2.8, and yes, I was trying to get just that part in focus, so at least that part of the shot worked out as intended!
@jennifer robin: On your foxglove, I would've guessed bigger than 2.8. Like f1.2 or 1.8. But you said you had to use a "long lens" so I guess the short depth of field accounts for the rest. Awesome shot regardless. (Hmm... I've got a 200/f2.8...) @bunny: They're a fun band! But I think I've exhausted the concept for a while. I just realized they(she) has appeared on three straight days. @allison: The leg warmers were a little unexpected under the circumstances. Don't see those too often any more. BTW, your son is adorable. Very handsome young man. @steffi: Even lying flat on the ground it's not easy to get that angle. Neat shot though. @hrh: "Random" is my specialty ;)
All: Thanks for the comments, and making my WW defloration such a special experience *sniff*.

I agree - it just LOOKS cool. I've always had a fascination with dancers ... probably because I wanted to be one when I grew up.
Clearly, that didn't work out. *grin*

Fun shot! I think being "caught" by something is half the fun of photography anyway. Great entry. Thanks for dropping by. :D
