Wordless Wednesday #13 and Thematic Photographic 12: Colorful (v.5.0)
A few weeks back I posted a shot from pit road at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Thematic Photographic 10: Patterns But as you can imagine, my motor drive was whirring pretty much constantly that day. This colorful shot came a few hours before the start of the race as the crews pushed their cars to the starting grid.

I was expecting two pictures, not two memes with one picture. Lazy. :P But I love the colourful shot... it's so full of action, isn't it?
Happy WW (and TP)!

I love the caption, too...this photo would be at home in Sports Illustrated. It leaps off the screen.
There's something about the way you composed it that just makes it pop. Every pixel speaks of motion. What a gorgeously rich shot!
I've posted my WW here. It couldn't have been taken anywhere near a track :)

I'm wordless...
Great shot! I love how everything at the races is bright, colorful, and coordinated. Looks like fun. :D
Smoofus: Darling, darling smoofus... don't you think it takes more ingenuity to do it this way? And bagging the trifecta on Tuesday... that was just masterful I thought. (*grin*)
Carmi: That was probably my favorite of all the shots I got that weekend. The track was still pretty quiet at that point -- the start was still several hours away. And these 800hp machines were being lined up along pit road to sit there, poised like 3400 pound jungle cats waiting for their prey. But I gotta confess, when they kicked over all 43 engines more or less in unison... the roar alone is... almost erotic.
mommywiz: Once the engines start, you may as well be wordless because you won't be able to hear sh*t! You can tell the race veterans in the crowd... they have a sign language all their own sort of like SCUBA divers do.
Nothing to do with the photo, which I loved, but why does your post have tomorrow's date today? I've noticed this on your blog before. Inquiring mind wants to know.
very impressive photo very colorful and attractive... great shot!
thanks for the visit..

Dianne: It starts out bright and colorful and coordinated anyway. Some of the cars won't be so pretty at the end of the day. But they all start out sleek, shiny and powerful. And I got to catch them early in the morning in some really good light.
Mamie: First of all let me qualify what I'm about to tell you by saying that everything to follow is "As Blogger Does It". Wordpress or others, YMMV. But in the Blogger Dashboard, once you've published a post, you can do whatever you want with the date/time stamp and the post will remain on your blog. So I initially published this one at about 5:45 on Tuesday evening. I copied the URL for my link on the meme page, then went back to the dashboard and changed the post date/time to 12:01 AM on Wednesday (since it really is tomorrow's news today).
If that doesn't explain it sufficiently, email me and I'll try and explain it better.
Very nice shot! So clear and crisp!
I love it and so does my little guy ;).
this is a nice shot, very full of colors.
Happy WW!
that a cool pic.
happy WW!
Nice shot. Nicer if I get to drive. LOL. Mine's up too.
Happy WW.

This is a great action shot. Am I wrong, or is this one of the most stressful jobs in sports?
love the red car, i wish i own one!:D
Psyching up for the F1 nightrace in my country next month! CHeers!
nice car!!!hope to drive on real;-)
There is something so ironic about a race car being pushed by humans to move.
Nice photos! The coloring is amazing.
Wonderful multi-tasking! I'm a 'fan' of that myself. I'm almost 'wordless' at Sacred Ruminations today (playing with Photoshop filters for the first time) ... 'whimsical' at Small Reflections ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Mojo, did I really need to know all that? Did I even understand a word of it?? I'm a blogging ignoramus, and I just thought you were posting from a trip to jolly olde angland or something. Thanks, though, for taking the time to explain, and offering to FURTHER explain. Next time I'll make up a story about it and not bother you with the question!
You are killing me here with the fast cars. Ohhhhhh. Me likey.
Mamie: Sorry... I broke the cardinal rule of writing there I guess: "Know your audience". (But if you'd seen my first draft! *shudder*)
So. The simplest way I can think of to put it is that I monkeyed with the date/time stamp on the post so it looks like it was posted the next day.
Is that better?
Last time I went to the race track I didn't have a good camera and anyway it poured with rain ALL DAY, with the wind blowing strongly too. Even in the undercover stands everyone was huddled up one end because the rain was blowing in at the other.
What a great shot!
that is very cool! Happy WW!
nice picture. I love NASCAR
Monkeying around with the date I can understand. Thanks!
