Monochrome Monday #1: Quittin' Time

Not too much to be said here. I didn't know any of the dearly departed. Fact is, this was my first -- and so far only -- visit to Bethlehem, PA. This little churchyard cemetery was in the mill town section of the city, and is probably inhabited by those who kept Bethlehem Steel running for decades. The monuments here are monuments to all the unknown laborers who have lived and died keeping the wheels of American commerce greased. Shift's over fellas... Rest in Peace.

I love old graveyards. Did you know that Bloggingham Castle is haunted?

I love old graveyards too! Both of these shots are lovely. The bottom one for the amazing light and the top for the lack of light.

I have to agree with Dianne also. You have got off to a really moody start. Excellent point you make in the prose.

Cimeteries is an interesting subject for B&W shots.
That's really perfect for Monochrome M. For a first post, it's a great success!

Yes, Mojo, you're right. That was so evident for me (as I took the picture), I didn't explain what was my Monochrome.
In fact, it was that. So sorry. Thanks to ask.

Gorgeous! There's just something about old cemeteries that cameras love. Awesome! Oh, and the Blue Monday was beautiful too!

Great shot. A lot of us seem to be doing "mood" shots. Or maybe the mood I am in means I am picking up on the emotion in shots...

I may be weird, but I think it's interesting to wander around old cemeteries. I read the headstones and wonder what kind of life the person had. Great shots. :D

Death in black & white. Adds credence to the theory that some go walking after dark. BJ

Sorry I'm so late visiting - life has been hectic this week!

I like both these, but I think the second one is my favourite - I think it's the tree that makes it for me.
