Sky Watch Friday #8: Museum of Natural Sciences

"Museum of Natural Sciences"
Raleigh, NC - October 2008 (Click to embiggen)

Sky Watch Friday

I've featured a different version of this shot in another meme, but the building -- and more to the point, the sky behind it -- is worthy of a second look.
This, you may remember, is the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and I included it in my post on Bicentennial Mall in downtown Raleigh several weeks ago. Most recently the museum had the Dead Sea Scrolls in the house which was apparently a very popular exhibit.
The building sure is striking set against that flawless sky no matter what's going on inside.

Thank you for reminding us of what lovely blue skies are like. Great building too, it would be a shame not to see it.

I am always taking the same image at different times. Blue falwless sky, nothing finer.

Perfect sky to emphasize an imposing building.
You like lines of architecture, no?

I confess to remembering this one, Mojo! I really like the curved shape of the building. But hey! The sky is nice too.

I recognize that! Great shot. I've featured that building on my other blog but I don't think I have yet on the blog I do skywatch on. I like the angle you shot it at. Hope you've had a pleasant Thanksgiving.

indeed...the curve of the building against the stark blue sky is a nice shot.

So I'm guessing that you and I are the only two people in the metro area (and perhaps beyond) that did NOT see the Dead Sea Scrolls...

Nover stopped to take notice of the building's architecture before. Not like this. Thanks for the persepctive.
