This photo is from May of 2003, and "Joy" (a particularly fitting name for this girl) found her forever home with some really nice folks in Guilford County. This particular rescue is very careful who they adopt to, because Rotties are the wrong breed for most people and most people don't realize that. Which is how so many of them wind up in rescue to begin with. But my soapbox is well documented when it comes to researching the breed(s) you're interested in before getting a dog, so I won't launch into another rant here.
I'm not sure if it's the dogs' hope or my own I'm trying to portray in this photo. Probably a bit of both.

We adopted ours over 7 years ago. He's the best!
