All these fairly basic shapes remind me of the wooden blocks I used to play with. I would make odd shaped structures like this before proclaiming myself to be a bulldozer and rolling over everything. I like how you framed this to have most of the Strange set on the dark tree background.
Those HDR's were made using a friend's copy of Photomatix. As I don't have my own yet, I've also been experimenting with the HDR utility in Photoshop, exposure blending in GIMP, and the HDR tool in CinePaint. None of these seem to have the same capabilities and results as Photomatix, so I may need to borrow her laptop again or see if the school has licenses with any companies that produce reputable HDR software.
That is a beautiful piece of sculpture and a great photograph. I like how it incorporates seemingly disparate geometric elements into a single structure. It looks like something I might do in computer graphics - indeed, I am going to bookmark this one for use as inspiration for a future WW :)
Interesting photo! We're VERY curious to know the story behind it and really hope you'll participate in this week's Tell Me Thursday meme at http://www.tellmethursday.com

I think this is really interesting. If nothing else, it photographs well! Nice job.
Strange, but peaceful somehow. It almost looks like one of those creations I see on my daughter's playroom floor.
Tabbikat's Thoughts
I like the sculpture, if only because it's thought-provoking. Simple? Yes. Looks like children's blocks? Yes. Just plain strange? Yes.
But here we all are talking about it :-).
strange yes, but very eye-catching
Kind of Dali-esque today, Mojo.
I am with Julia, that looks very Sal ...
Happy WWand congrats on the photoblog contest!
A most unusual piece of sculpture, but not out of place in what looks like a pretty garden. Hope you're having a good Wednesday! :)
Very cool! Thanks for sharing
