Monochrome Monday #29: I Hear The Chops Here Are Great

"Berklee College of Music"
Boston, MA - August 2005 (Click to embiggen)

This is the crucible that forged a lot of genius. Quincy Jones, and Diana Krall come to mind immediately and I'm sure the list of honored graduates is legion. My son gave due consideration to Berklee and we visited the campus on the Great College Road Trip of 2005. the trip included three liberal arts schools and three conservatories. In the end he decided that as good as the musical curriculum was, a conservatory was not the best choice for a Music Ed major. I'd agree with that. (So did my wallet.) But it was cool to visit the schools anyway.Violence Unsilenced

Hey, I've been there! Funny to see a local landmark through someone else's eyes....

Imposing facade.

Beautiful building....
The decoration is superb in mono.

Do you know I never knew it was actually spelt phonectically! Amazing what local places can become so iconic.

One of the best of the many great colleges in Boston.

I visited a lot of colleges in Boston with my second daughter but this was not one of them. Although musical (piano and flute) that is not her career interest.

I'll have to look up exactly where it is and what's around it; may be worth a visit if I'm in the already in the area. A performance would be fun...

Nice monochrome, Mr. Mojo!

P.S. The image resizing advise you gave me has worked on two photos so far. Thank you!

There it is in black and white. Great lettering and the columns looking oh so grand. Thank you for sharing and so glad that you son decided to pursue his studies in our happy city. The new music school at UNCG is a beauty. Since we haven't taken classes there, we'll let your son comment on the quality of his education!

Happy Monochrome Monday.

An appropriately ornate building. Must have been great to visit it anyway.

One of my favorite kinds of photo. Today's architecture is sadly lacking compared to this ornate old gal.
