Thematic Photographic 49: "Human" v.5.0
This vendor sets up at the end of Bicentennial Mall between the History Museum and the State Legislative Building every day, rain or shine, recession or no recession... She's pretty much an institution there now, turning out dogs, chips and drinks for the passers by and state employees working in the Capitol District. Guess it's not bad work if you can get it. At least not in this economy.

Another great shot for "human."
Smart woman - in all seaons, in all economic circumstances - people gotta eat.
And she's coordinated with her signage and cooler ... nice ..
Is it weird that I always worry about the cleanliness of food at vendors? She appears to be almost blowing away!
Comfort food amid unending discomfort. Love the juxtaposition.
Come to think of it, there used to be a sidewalk vendor just across from my old office in downtown London. She wasn't licensed, and her mere presence touched off a huge debate over whether such vendors should even be allowed to sell food.
I guess Londoners didn't care about the cleanliness thing, because she had lineups down the street every day. I like it: it adds to the uniqueness of the town.
