Losing Ground, and Short on Ideas

I'm not very good at marketing and sales. That's why I write software rather than sell it. And the campaign to bring home the 2009 Most Inspiring Blog Award for Violence UnSilenced is too important to leave solely to my meager sales skills. So I'm asking you. What am I missing? What else can I do that will turn this around?

I've tagged every post scheduled between now and July 6th when the voting closes, and included those tags in my template so I don't forget to add them to any new ones between now and then. I've established a BCC list for people who want to get a daily email reminder (there's plenty of room still on that list by the way... he hinted subtly). I sent one mass mailing out to everybody in my address book that I thought might care, but that's not something I like to do more than once for any given item. And I've plastered the badges and buttons all over this blog so you can't possibly miss the message if you visit here.

And yet, as of this morning, VU was 700 votes back and losing a little more ground day by day. So I decided what I needed was a really, really BIG button. (But if you have any better ideas, I'd love to hear them!)

Why Vote VU?

You've gone above and beyond, my friend. VU is doing GREAT -- so much better than I would have expected, to be honest. It is getting a ton of recognition and I'm grateful for all you've done. Thank you.

Zombies! perhaps if you told people that by clicking the button they could command a Zombie army to smite the unworthy?

We will keep voting (even without the Zombies...THAT is how good you are!)

I'll advertise in my next post. Other than that, I'm not so good at marketing either.

I have to confess I have been voting with my email and my moms (ssshhh) and still the numbers are so far behind the leader. Come On People Vote Every Day!

I believe there's a conspiracy of sorts going on over there. It took me three tries to find VU on the correct category page. It seems they are mixing them all up, it had 8oo plus votes tonight, but was in between a 3 vote blo and and 27 vote blog...
I'm voting despite the "hard" work.

sigh.

Mojo you're doing a fantastic job. A lot of us have been voting everyday. However, VU's main competition (and the leader of the Most Inspirational category) is a blog written by a woman whose almost 2-year old daughter just died. Timing is everything. (Not that I'm saying the Spohr's daughter died just so they could win a blogging popularity contest. It's just the timing of this particular awards contest is so close after poor Maddie dying.) So don't take on any kind of blame on this one. We can all look forward to the next awards deal and hope for better circumstances.
