Monochrome Monday #36: King's Rook
I have no idea what this building is, I just remember it being in Boston. It may be on the campus of Tufts University, but I honestly don't remember for sure. Any Bostonians out there want to help a fella out with an ID?

What an impressive building, made more impressive by your beautiful photograph. The b&w is perfection!
Is it possibly this restaurant? I'm not entirely sure, but that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw it.

We are being treated to a feast this evening - good pictures flowing in.
Impressive building!
And perfect black & white :)
I LOVE this shot, Vackert!
Perfect as usual. Just loved the black and white arcitecture.
Nice week from Anne in Norway
Great mono capture, Mojo.
Beautiful indeed - a feast for both the eyes and the imagination!
(What can I say? At heart I'm still a young girl dreaming of castles and princesses and gorgeous medieval style gowns.)
I've got a feeling if I stare at it long enough I'll spot Rapunzel's long hair flowing out of the windows up there!
Nice shot in B&W definitely!
that's the princess' castle of course, duh?!?!?!?!
Well we were lost in Boston for some time but I can't answer that question. Cool building though!
So romantic .. so fairy tale-ish
Looks like a castle to me...

I think you posted a wider view of the same building on The World in Black and White a few weeks ago:

I've never actually eaten inside either a castle or a Smith and Wollensky, but I believe they're a high end steakhouse with a few branches around the eastern USA. Steak in a castle in Boston sounds kinda strange.
This is just the coolest when I grow up I wanna be like U and take shots like this( I am being serious here now Mojo)! What ever this place is you made it stand out!
I believe Liz is right - the only castle I know in Boston now houses the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse. It is owned by the Park Plaza and can be used for large receptions and conferences. I have been there 2x and it is a pretty cool place smack in the middle of downtown. The ambiance is much better than the overpriced food though - Grill 23 is tastier for the bucks - but you don't get to experience the architecture. It used to be an armory and they have lots of cool artifacts.
This is all the more reason I must continue to harass my husband to take me to Boston! What a wonderful shot!
Forgive me for adding my link below...I don't have a "blogger" blog, and I don't have open ID.
