Ruby Tuesday #50: "Two Guys"

"Two Guys"
Raleigh, NC - February 2009 (Click to embiggen)

Ruby Tuesday - Are you red-dy? Hosted at

Two Guys Restaurant is a Raleigh institution. Situated right across Hillsboro Street from NC State for as long as I can remember, it specializes in "Ameritalian" cuisine. Translation: inexpensive, but marvelous pizza, pasta and sandwiches guaranteed to draw in hungry college students and townies alike by the score.Violence UnSilenced

You can't ALWAYS have gourmet food I guess! ;)

Sounds like the perfect place for students (or anyone) on a budget.

I'll bet they have great pizza!

There used to be a department store in Western Mass called Two Guys. Not sure if it was a chain or just local but I remember my parents buying me a "stereo system" there for my 10th birthday, which felt really grown-up.

The non-ambiance of this building is its true charm. The red attracts us, but the food captivates us. A comfortable eatery minus the potted palms and ferns of a more pretentious place. A real find!

Now that's what I call red! This looks like a fun place to eat.

Despite the fact that we have a zillion pizza and pasta places within a 10-mile radius of our home here in southern Connecticut I have never heard the term "Ameritalian."

Learn something new every day!

We have 5 Guys and a Burger here, what happened to the other three? This old building reminds me of my grandfather's old store building.

it amazes me how many of your Raleigh street scenes remind me of Brooklyn, NY
I have been meaning to mention that
I guess the sense of community is what stands out

People say the color red stimulates one's appetite...perfect color for this place. It would definitely draw me in if I were walking down the street!
