This is what I did while I was waiting to
not get some new lightning shots at RDU International
last night this morning. Mother Nature decided to be a tease and lured me out to the airport with a lot of flashy displays of light in the eastern sky about 11:00. By 11:30 I was convinced that we were going to get enough of a show to make it worthwhile packing the gear and trudging out to the observation deck. To put it mildly, I was terribly disappointed in the old girl, but I didn't come home completely empty handed. While I was waiting for the Storm That Didn't Come, I fooled around with some experimental night shots including this one of the runway lights. The lines aren't quite straight, and I haven't quite figured out how to correct that problem... yet. But the overall effect is pretty cool. I got a couple of other similar shots that I might put up as additional entries in this theme... or another one perhaps. What do you think?

That's pretty wild!
I thought at first you had stopped at a fireman's carnival. I thought "round up." But no. Runway. Whatever that says about the joy of flying in my book. Anyway, I like. A lot.
Take a walk on the wild side to me!
I like it!
This was cool:)
