Thematic Photographic 65: "Perspective" v.1.0 - Just Like They Taught Us In Drafting Class
This week Thematic Photographic attempts to put things in "Perspective". When I heard this, the first thing that came to mind was a blast from the past. Way back in high school I decided to take Engineering Drafting I my senior year. I was good for taking electives like that. I took Everything I. Never Anything II. Okay, Spanish II, but other than that I never took the second of any series fo electives. I figured I was exploring, expanding, getting the most well-rounded education public high school could offer me. My parents probably figured I just didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up. They were probably right. So was I. I digress.Perspective drawing was one of the techniques we learned in said Drafting class, and it looked a lot like this. Only in pencil. And without the vegetation.

That is a jaw dropping cool shot. Seriously.
I'm such a dork. I love perspective drawing. I've been known to identify my vanishing point and just start sketching in a three-dimensional image. Not that I am artistic at all... I just make it technically correct. It's applied geometry, don'chaknow.

depth of field, concept of image all make up ones perspective... this is a great example of the theme Mojo darn it I had a bridge I wanted to use but this is way cooler!

Here is My Perspective
excellent indeed!
You learned your lessons well. Thanks for sharing.
LOVE this perspective
LOL! I had a bit MORE experience than that in the drafting department... and a waaaaaaaaay lot more in the reading of blueprints! 4 years of sheet metal apprenticeship, followed by several years as a draftsman! (woman) I really enjoyed it - but gave it all up to be a MOM. From MY perspective that was the more important job!
I like your view of that railing! :)
lol, i guess it all depends on your perspective, i get it
Stunningly captured. Your parents were wrong: you clearly knew what you wanted to be when you grew up! Look how it all turned out!
Gorgeous perspective!!
Mojo...I think my son and you are kindred spirits...love the shot
Love the pic ... I used to love to do perspective drawings in art class
