Thematic Photographic 71: "Open" v.5.0 - Open For Bids
If you're in the market for a retired US Air Force T-34 trainer, I saw one for sale at the Winston Salem Air Show back in September. Based on the Beechcraft Bonanza airframe, the T-34 "Mentor" was introduced in 1953 as an alternative to the T-6 "Texan" trainer used by the US Air Force and Navy as their primary flight trainer. The T-34 remained in production until 1959 with over 2300 airframes built and was used for nearly 25 years. The serial number on this one suggests a 1955 production date, so all the bugs should have been worked out by then. But I didn't ask about the sticker price.
