One Single Impression: Chaos

Chaos
Nothing
Everything
It all runs together
In this dusty attic I call a mind
Only one thing
Remains constant
Remains clear

A face
A voice
A laugh
A kiss

The eyes I can't escape
The touch I burn to feel
The heartbeat that echoes my own

My mind reels
My breath cannot escape my chest
I fall
Spiraling down a deep, deep well

The longing, the desire,
It consumes me
And I welcome it

Spiraling down,
While the chaos swirls around me
But not within.

That mind is no dusty attic but a beautiful, well-lit place. Beautiful, romantic, and, to under-say it, lovely.

I'm thinking I like chaos.

Nicely written, I like the way you did a whole stanza with each line starting in A!

Breathtaking - you paint pictures with strong, lush hues. To feel such emotions, such turmoil.. is awe inspiring, terrifying. And to think that actually, it is all "around" you, as opposed to "within" you.. A great verse, bravo!

Very simple yet powerful expressions used.

When we fall, chaos swallows us helplessly.

I very much like this poem.

Hmm, I have read and re-read your piece. I am sensing chaos on the inside and outside. I am not finding a calmness within, more of an uncontrolled yearning. I like how your poem flows, along with the imagery.

So often we fear immersing ourselves in our passion. Your poem suggests that this surrender is indeed what keeps us whole.
