Update: Big news! I've just heard that an anonymous donor has offered to match the donation generated by the Simple Things Challenge dollar for dollar. Which means that now every post is worth twice as much to the Heartline Ministries clinic. If you've already put up your post, you won't have to do anything more. But if you're still considering it, you have double the reason to do it now. The Challenge is still in progress until midnight Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8), so there's still several hours before things come to a close.
Chris at Enchanted Oak has an initiative going to aid those in Haiti, and it won't cost you a thing but a few minutes of your time.
This seems like a simple enough way to help out, and best of all it doesn't cost a dime. (How often you get a deal like that? But there is a deadline. Submissions have to be posted and linked at Chris's blog by midnight PST tonight. Entries can be whatever form you like -- poetry, prose, or just a list -- or some combination thereof. I hope you'll take a few moments and join in the effort.
"For each person who participates with a list, a poem, or a prose piece about the joy of simple things, my family will donate $2.00 to Heartline Ministries for their medical clinic and other programs in Haiti. The Heartline Ministries blog by John McHoul will tell you more about what they are doing."
