let go (with thoughts for a friend)

Let Go (With thoughts for a )
Kenny Wayne Shepherd, The Place You're In (Reprise Records - 2004)
In a room filled with dry tears and sorrow
In you come and lay down by my side
Will you feel the same way tomorrow
'Cause you smile just as easy as you cry

Was it wrong to be good to you
Was it wrong to be a man
'Cause I ain't getting through to you
And I've done all I can to make you understand

Chorus:
And my heart just keeps on bleeding
From the hole that drains my soul
And if I can't kill the feeling now
How do I, oh I, let go

Time only heals when it wants to
I guess that's why I just can't get you off my mind

When the walls come down between us
Will you be on the other side
If you say you didn't mean it
I would let you right back in for the rest of my life
Only you can stop the bleeding
From the hole that drains my soul
And if you can kill the feeling now
How do I, oh I, let go
Let go
Let go
Let go

[Guitar solo]

Chorus:
And my heart just keeps on bleeding
From the hole that drains my soul
And if I can't kill the feeling now
How do I, oh how do I

Only you can stop the bleeding
From the hole that drains my soul
And if you can kill the feeling now
How do I, oh I, let go
Let go
Let go
Let go

Thanks, Mojo, you are a sweetheart. (that's girlspeak for "duuuuuude!")

I hadn't known this song before, but I certainly recognise the emotion.

As for the photograph, it is amazing. Once again, you have taken an ordinary scene and created a truly extraordinary picture from it. I really like this one a lot.

I love the way you combine song lyrics with the photograph.

The emotion is palpable. This song and photograph are the perfect compliment to each other- somehow, shadows make the light more... driven.

Happy Birthday, Your Curmudgeon-ness! :)

You have birthdays? I thought you were forever, lol. Love your night shot - again, you sure have them mastered!
