Nothing lights up the night like fireworks. I've been trying to figure out how to photograph them for years, but most of my efforts were on film. Which meant remembering (or taking copious notes) exposure settings for -- literally -- months before having a chance to make adjustments and try again. Because it's not like you can whistle up a fireworks display to try your theories out on. So the transition to digital is a big help. Having white balance adjustment available alone makes a huge difference (when I remember that I have it). Anyway, fireworks make a nice hybrid between this week's TP (Light) and last week's (Sky). But I came home with such a stunning sunset committed to (compact flash) memory that the fireworks had to wait until this week.
