Thematic Photographic 14: "Faded" v.2.0
Today class, we look at mountain cabins. Specifically Blue Ridge Mountain cabins. In our first photo we have our model home. Note the use of the rustic effect, and the artful twist of the support for the porch roof. And if you'll step to the edge here you'll see our new homesites that we're very excited about. And there wasn't any clearcutting involved here! The site was cleared by good old Mother Nature herself. So join us won't you? This is actually a preserved historic site, so while the cabin may appear in very much the same condition it did when it was built, the park that grew up around it is certainly nothing like its original state (for one thing there's a highway going through the back 40). Since it was during the off-season, the site wasn't in full operation meaning we didn't get to see the interior. But the exterior made for a couple of interesting photos. In the sedon photo you see what 1500 feet down looks like through a 400mm lens. Doesn't seem so far does it? Trust me, it's a long way from where you are to where that cabin is.The third shot isn't faded, it's just the marker that explains the shot you see above it. Yeah, I could've typed it all... but why?

Wow, those are really awesome photos. I love looking at old places like this and wondering about the lives that people lived in them.
