This is what happens when a guy with a camera and a room with a view gets bored. Wait for a car to come down Highway 58, fire a 4-second exposure and wait for the fun to start. In this case, there were at least two cars and possibly three involved. It appears that one car turned out of the hotel parking lot and into the convenience store across the street. Or perhaps vice versa. The other was just headed west in the direction of Pine Knoll Shores, Indian Beach or possibly Emerald Isle. Apparently there's a bump in the road right outside the entrance to the Sheraton parking lot. The teltale squiggle in the light trail of the second shot says that someboey bounced the rear of the car.

This is a great photo.
Love it!
I dig your approach to photography. Reading your words, I feel like I subscribe to the very same vibe.
Besides, long exposure night/car-driving pictures are the coolest. Well, at least THESE are.
