Actually, this is not (yet) the result of egregious amounts of pollution, it's simply an effect I created by stopping the camera down by 3 stops or so. I dialed in a very small aperture (f/22 I think) and shot a fast enough shutter to drop the exposure to 2 full sotps under. Add a circular polarizer and a .6 ND filter and that probably took it another stop under. But I really liked the effect, and imagined that this is what sunrise might look like if current carbon emissions continued unchecked.

You have done a masterful job getting this effect going through the moces you did canerawise. It's turned out stunning.

I like the concept, I think I'm finally starting to tune into what wordless posts are all about.

Great shot, Mojo. Very well done.

For my shot I set my cam in bulb-mode, triggered my cable release and locked it in position. Then I sat in my car and waited. After 25 min I was very curious. Next time I will try for an hour. I hope my battery will last ;-)

damn.
this makes me feel a little lame.
when i was at the beach in the evening, i was so busy trying not to step on a little crab and watching the fire the people in the big house had going (wondering if they were going to catch that big damn house on fire that close to all the water in the world) that i totally missed it.
thanks for catching it and sharing it!

Blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada! ;-) Just teasing. LOL.

I wish I understood what all that means! Hopefully someday I will learn.

Now to the photo...the peacefulness of it takes me to a quiet place in my heart. Thank You for sharing. :-)
Hugs,
Kimmie

Excellent shot. I love it :)

I have to agree with Mimi... the orbs caught my attention, too! I wish I could play with my camera like you did, I'm only using a point-and-shoot cam :)
Have a great WW.

I'm reading your explanation of how you got the shot and I'm thinking... Huh? LOL! I need to learn more about my camera and it's functions. :-D However you did it, it's absolutely gorgeous! Good job! :-)
