Watery Wednesday #5: Surf Fishing
Surf fishing is big along North Carolina's coast no matter where in the state you go. If you can get a line out past the breakers, you can pull in channel bass, drum, and even the occasional billfish. But if you're not in the mood for wading, you can try your luck form one of the fishing piers or charter boats. And don't be surprised at anything you might pull out of the waters around here.

Just be careful of eatin' them there drum - they can be wormy!
Your water is a lovely color blue. Do you have good shelling on that beach?

Great photo - looks peaceful.
This looks inviting compared to the snow in these parts these past few days.
Tink asked about shelling - I'm assuming it's good there. The Nags Head area was always fun for me.
I love the beach. The water in this shot is beautiful!
:-)
@Tink: I'm certainly no expert on what makes "good" shelling, so I may be the wrong person to ask. But shellfish are plentiful, so it stands to reason that shells would be too.
@People with: This was in late October, so the official season was all but over. Between mid-to-late April and late September, this beach wouldn't be nearly so sparsely populated. But this time of year it's incredibly peaceful there!
@Carletta: I haven't been to Nags Head in ages, but you rarely hear anybody have anything bad to say about it. Someday soon, I'm going to get back there.
The water is a beautiful color.
It's a great way to spend time at the beach ... but I would imagine its getting colder and colder now. Of course you have to go when the fish are there, and that might be seasonal.
This reminds me of home! Beautiful.
great capture! what a wonderful place! love the beach, I wish to go there, hehehe

Love that blue, blue water. So expansive feeling. I really feel that sense of being there. Thanks! Happy Watery Wednesday.
A great photo, fisherman's paradise.
The water looks so powerful with that lone fisherman standing there. Beautiful!
Love the reflections and the remnants of previous waves on the shore. That's where I'd be, looking for beachglass.
I love the smell and sound of the ocean. Nice photo!
This is a nice ocean picture.
So did you not see her or did you get tired of waiting for her to clear the shot ..
