This is it. Another year is in the rearview mirror. I considered doing a retrospective, but you'll never find the future by looking for it in the past. Besides, I've seen a lot of years come and go, and of all of those 2008 was definitely one of them.
So for all of you, wherever you are and whether your accounting for the last year ended up or down, I hope that 2009 treats you more kindly than 2008.

Nice night photography. 2008 wasn't too bad for us. It looks like 2009 may be very challenging for a lot of people. I hope everyone is able to take it in stride then.

Great photograph to start the New Year, Mojo. Here's hoping our viewfinders are only filled with pleasant sights and all of our captures are keepers.
I know that 2009 will be difficult for a lot of people financially (shoot, include me in that number), and I don't mean to trivialize the struggles that many will face, but . . . I can't help but be excited that we have an opportunity to turn away from the rampant materialism and commercialism that have scarred our collective landscapes and rediscover meaning beyond brand names. I really am feeling so optimistic about where we will go! Happy 2009, Mojo!
