Sepia Scenes #13: The One That Got Away

Sepia Scenes - Brought to you by Mary the Teach

I had to laugh when I saw this scene. This fencepost is well above the tide line, way too far for that short length of rope to be of any use tying up a boat in any case. Can't help but wonder what it's doing there. Anybody want to venture a guess?

The sepia gives it such a timeless look. Short rope? I'd say someone was too lazy to untie it, so they just whipped out the old pocket knife and cut it.

In case a cowboy wanders in and needs to tie up his hobby horse?

ha ha. this falls into the same category as the little boat that lies in the middle of the desert on my sisters farm...

Lassoing mermaids?

(My daughter is way into mermaids this week - I apparently have them on the brain.)

To lasso a wandering sea horse, of course!

I was thinking along the same line as Sandy - some cowboy decided to go tread some water. Might have been the first time he'd seen the ocean.
Really nice image in sepia.
