Sky Watch Friday #18: Copper Sky
Conventional wisdom says that if you like the light in front of you, turn around and look behind you. Chances are better than even you'll like what you see there even better. And if you remember my Skywatch from last week, you'll see exactly how that bit of wisdom came to be. Strictly speaking, this wasn't behind me, but it was about 90 degrees removed from where I was initially looking (the aforementioned Skywatch #17).
There's a reason it's called conventional wisdom I guess.

You saw a bit of God as we say! :D
Beautiful, isn't it? I could watch the sky and the Ocean, day and night. Nature is divine.
awesome shot
My SWF entry this week : in HERE. I hope you have time to visit. Thanks
I like those colors. I like just about any color for sky other than a dirty gray. But ochre with bits of gold and pink is lovely.
Very nice capture, the way the winds at various levels has moved the clouds around!
Gotta love it when the better photo op is behind or beside you. Glad you turned and looked!
Just goes to show that beauty is in all directions! What a wonderful shot!
This is very cool Sky watch friday. Nice shot!
Smashing cloud formations and that colour is just wonderful. Lucky you turned around and looked elsewhere too. It paid off.
I'm always amazed at how headlights at dusk are pretty useless for helping us see, but essential for others to have them on to see them. It isn't until the full cloak of night that our headlights become good for us.
I'll follow your example next time I attempt to shoot something esp clouds. Lovely snap.
Beautiful color on this pictures, thanks for sharing!
I love how the clouds are holding the light from the sun behind them and showing us it's still there.
Very nice, as always.
Really beautiful sky!Happy SWF!
Stunning and unique skywatch shot, I love it.
Cheers!

I love the colors of that sky. A feast for the eyes with all of the gray we have been having.
Now THAT is special. Looks like a painting by God.
I love this - it looks as though the colors are being poured down. I'm addicted to the sky!
Spectacular! Glad you turned! :O)
Love the light!
As for my lightning shot... you give me too much credit. I just pressed the button at the right moment. God did the rest.
That was a wice turnaround! Beautiful!
Looking around was definitely worth the effort. I went back to last week to compare. The last was pretty, but this one is spectacular!
Excellent observation and a Turner sky to accompany them. You really grasp the concept of photography and it shine through with your images conventional or otherwise.
Very cool. What a difference.
I truly LOVE that color! My favorite color is burnt orange/copper & that sky shot is phenomenal!!!
The "tude" comment you left on my Jilly shot on b&w made me smile! Thank you for that - it hasn't been too happy around here lately!
Copper or golden sky.. I love the soft look of the clouds in this!
Have a good weekend!!
The colors in this shot are just fabulous. Smiles B
watta drama! love it!
Is the tree is the corner to help 'place' the sky? I am just curious because I find that sometimes the sky without any context is just the sky. The colors are fantastic...Michelle
love this shot!
the sky is really a fascinating canvas!
I love that it is so dark and crisp near the top and fades to a lighter shade lower. Very pretty.
i'm a sky watcher of note, beautiful pic. and thanks for the tip, will be looking behind me more often now.
Beautiful shot! But I am so often lost in the setting sun, I forget to look around.
Good thing the lower cloud is able to catch the spill off from the upper cloud .. it reminds me of the way my Monday morning began with the ceiling raining down on me in the bathroom ... not the way you want to shower .. not while sitting on the throne
smiling at "conventional" in your preface...
gorgeous shot!
Really beautiful. Isn't it amazing how many different photo worthy shots can be iin one sky at the same time?
Beautiful sky!! I whish to see the same soon. A bit tired of cloudy weather ;)
Happy weekend to you :)
Gotta be one of the prettiest skies I've ever seen!
This is my favorite for this week. It's gorgeous. Happy SWF!
