Watery Wednesday

Yates Mill is popular with photographers from the Raleigh area, and with good reason. In addition to its historic importance, it also provides an almost endless array of photo opportunities.

Of your two Wednesday photos, I like this one best. I think because of the perspective. Great captures, both.

Great shot! The water looks so cold in B&W. Very pretty place. But what is realy scary is the snake sigh. OOOO! Scary

I really like this perspective. Maybe partly because I've been there and have seen a lot of pictures taken at Yates Mill. I know that this is an unusual composition.

Speaking of Yates Mill, did you enter anything in this year's competition? I entered one photograph. The reception is on the 20th and I'm looking forward to going and seeing what others entered.

I really like how the snake sign goes with your saying. Very, very clever and nice post.

Great angle from underneath deck. The typical view is probably up on top. By any chance, were you trying to get a photo without paying for "deck view?"

I like the perspective on this. Perhaps you are a bear hiding under there, lying in wait for prey to happen along; the sound of the rushing water provides cover so they can't even hear you breathing. Or perhaps, you are the prey, hiding from the bear! :)

Hey, great to see photos from North Carolina! This one is a beauty. I'm in Wilmington, and I love to showcase the beauty of my state and my hometown. Thanks for sharing.

Love the peeking-out perspective. It does look like a grea photo spot. And a good sit-and-think-spot, too.

Another winning shot. I also like the black and white treatment here.
