I saw a documentary recently on 'Oakwood Cemetery' what a fantastic place for sculpture, architecture, beautiful gardens and family crypts. Just loved it all!
...and gates are like doors, they invoke a similar curiosity. Yup, I know I'm going the wrong way, but I want to catch up on all the photos I missed here. :)
Now I want to go visit there after reading all the comments. LOL! This is truly a great shot, the sepia adds a fine tuning to it. Erie, but very mysterious.

Is that a present day picture? Because it looks antique. It's lovely and peaceful.
I haven't been there since just after we moved here, in 1970. I think I need to go poke around, don't you?
What a cool shot. The stark, bleak look just seems to fit.
The gates make me not want to go there.
I wonder if the dead are fenced in or the living, out.
Great shot...I love the sophia look. Happy WW:)
Oh no! I totally want to get inside those gates!
lisa may want in there -- but I want to wait a few years (:
stately.
I agree with Pamela. Where's the hurry!
it looks lonely...probably cue to its sepia color. My WW entry is here
My favourite pass time is walking around cemeteries - they are just so interesting. take care, Judith
Definitely sets the mood. I've heard that Oakwood is worth visiting.
I love cemeteries and this looks like one I'd definitely like to explore!
