Thematic Photographic 52: "Dusk" v.3.0
This was one of those shots you just chalk up to serendipity. Back in November of 2001, I went with the woman I was then dating to a couple of stock car races. This one was run at the NC Speedway in Rockingham -- "The Rock". The race was over and we were returning to the car, and as we passed the grandstand I caught this incredible silhouette. This was the first of two shots I took of it, a few minutes apart and it's still one of my favorites from that day. The serendipity comes from the fact that I still had film left at the end of the race to capture it with.

It's easy to see why you love it. It's amazing how much weight that apparently lightweight structure can hold.
This is Vackert!!!
More then that..
You are talented!!
And I enjoy your work, in all moods.
Wow! Wow wow wow!
Gorgeously done. Serendipity indeed.

Summer Stock Sunday is up and running - come join the fun!
Powerful silhouette. The backlit row of vehicles to the left could have been the inspiration for the Pixar film, Cars. This is a beautifully resonant moment - you were meant to have just enough film in your camera.
