I just couldn't get enough of this pier on my last trip to Atlantic Beach. It's not as if it's anything remarkable, it just has a character about it that I find charming despite the fact that it's owned by a resort hotel. And I'm always amazed at how short it looks from this angle when other full-on sideways angles demonstrate that it's really quite long.

I love these old wood piers. This reminds me of one of my favorite places in San Diego when growing up - Ocean Beach Pier.

This is an ideal place to get the briny sea breeze on your face as you have just cast your line for Fluke or whatever. The reward though is not catching fish at all - but to relax with the sun and surf invigorating the senses. I love the sound of crashing waves and the visual beauty of whitecaps...
The pier already looks pretty long from this angle. Now I'm curious just to how long it looks full-on.
