You didn't seriously think I'd let the "Distant" theme go by without offering up an expanse of coastal goodness did you? No, I didn't think so. In this case, it's Wrightsville Beach that drew the lucky straw. I haven't spent as much time there as I have in Atlantic Beach/Emerald Isle, but I've never really been sure why not. It's a shorter drive by about 25 miles and easily an hour (because it's a straight shot down Interstate 40 for almost the entire trip as opposed to a limited access, but definitely not Interstate highwway going to the Crystal Coast). I suppose it's because I know the lay of the land better in the Atlantic Beach area. But you can't really go wrong either way.

I love the color and feel of this one. Your beach looks so different from ours.
Nice shot! After 10 sleeps we will be heading to the Maritimes for a week for 6 days of R&R in Prince Edward Island. Hope to get some nice ocean shots while there. And then hitting Quebec City for two nights on the way home...that will definitely yield some great photo ops as usual.
