Thematic Photographic 63: "Summer" - v.4.0 "Shoot Early, Shoot Often"
I got a lot of mileage out of my brief burst of what my son calls "Jihadist Photography". By this he was referring to my comment that when that magical time of light hits, you just shoot everything in sight whether you would normally think of it as photoworthy or not. This particular evening I lucked into this light at Lake Crabtree. And it really was just lucky. I pulled into a parking area I would probably have passed by more often than not. From there, I walked down a short trail that I would have also ignored -- or simply not seen -- most times. And for my trouble, I stumbled upon this stretch of beach that looked for all the world like it had been transported whole from the Outer Banks. And all this just in time for those magical 15 minutes right before sunset where the light is like honey. I swear it's almost erotic.

Almost? I'd go the whole road on that one. It's amazing what's at the end of a short road just right there. Magic. The rewards of just showing up....(I oughta learn....)
The light IS like honey - beautiful!
That couldn't be more perfect.
It IS erotic..
And incredible beautiful.
Looks VERY early to me.. I would still be in bed till that sun rise high above :P
Lovely shot and a great view to start of the day.
I'm trying to think of something original to say about your incredible sunset but my words aren't working well right now. It's...pure elegance. I guess that will do.
And I know exactly what you mean about clicking away. I always do that with sunrises and sunsets and it's always worth it because there WILL be a "best" of the bunch.
Happened to be out last night shooting in the magical light - so fun! Will get to tonight if all goes well too. :)
Definitely erotic honey.
Or.... definitely erotic, honey. ;)
