No story behind the story here... just a photo I took a while back that seemed like a good 55 prompt.
At this distance, the city was actually kinda pretty. It wasn't until you got up close or saw it in good light that it took on the look of the soul-sucking pit of despair he'd come to know it as.
He turned up his collar against the chill, happily leaving it behind for the rats.

My kind of 55 Brother...
Thanks for this perfect image!
For me...This was one of your very best.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Holiday....Galen
Feeling a bit morose, Mojo? Like Susan Anderson, I tend to love "the city"... provided it is, in fact, a city, and not just an overgrown suburb. I hate sprawl.
I'm up,

"Soul-sucking pit of despair..." LOL! I love it! :)
This is kinda how I feel about cities too.
Great 55.
Mine is ready too... right here.
I've definitely been there. Terrific 55!
I've seen many like this. The ugliness is magnified upon closer scrutiny. My 55 is HERE.
Excellent. Cities really are best from a distance, particularly at night.
My sentiments exactly! I love to drive through a city to see what's going on from the safety of a car, but that's about it. :)

Beautiful pic but I totally understand his feeling regarding the big city and all the bad that it contains when seen in the good light. Have a great weekend. My 55 is up.
Sounds like several of the cities I've been through but I never, stay long. Always looking for yet another place, stopping running fingers through his goatee, but really young man I can't think of a favorite place. right now I really don't think there is any. check out my
Marine Life I think you might like it.
So true about cities. They look so harmless and pretty lit up at night.
