Thematic Photographic 80: "Abstract" v.2.0 Abstract by Definition
Fireworks are sort of abstract by nature most of the time. Sure, there are the ones that blow up in the shape of the liberty bell or whatever, but your average rocket's red glare is just a bunch of light trails made by glowing embers. And smoke. Lots of smoke. This was probably toward the end of the display at Atlantic Beach's Fourth of July celebration in 2008 and if you don't know for sure what you're looking at you could convince yourself that this was a shot of some distant nebula taken buy the Hubble telescope or some kind of phosphorescent plankton or... It almost seems a shame to find out that it's just your typical bombs bursting in air.

It looks like it's underwater! Very cool.
I thought it was underwater, too. I was prepared to believe it was clouds of jellyfish and fluorescent algae!
