low light indeed. Even spookier if a single window had been lit and the photo even darker.

Puts me to mind of all of our forefathers who lived in institutions and what unloving places they were. I like some of the detail here: the design around the centre of the builing and the lovely old lamp.

Are those windows all boarded up or just dark?

This could be a great structure again someday with some TLC (and a whole lot of sunny happy daylight to banish the Bates Motel feeling).
