sky watch friday #74: my end of the sky

Sky Watch Friday
My End of the Sky
Are the stars different
At your end of the sky?
Does the moon come closer to you
Than to me?
Are we so far apart
That the very skies themselves
Take a different form?
I hope, at your end of the sky,
The days are warm,
The evenings cool and fragrant
Brimming with promise
I hope, at your end of the sky,
You are smiling
Living
Loving
Happy
My end of the sky
Is very different
I speak to it
It listens with indifference
If it listens at all
At my end of the sky
The moon
Is cold
The stars
Too far to reach
I am, at my end of the sky
Living
Loving
Hopeful
Is my end of the sky
So very different?

Take a bow, Mojo. That sound you hear is a standing ovation, from this corner.

The photo, the verse- beyond words.

That's an incredible shot of the moon. Almost within reach--but not.

Very fitting words for a great moon shot.

love it. it has that certain loneliness to it, I think of it as something that I could have written, I suppose there is comfort in words

Well done. I have worked at this type of shot. It's difficult.
Ontario skies are getting more blue!

I confess the one shot a moon shot when I always if possible get the tripod and remote out. Love the composition off to one side. The words too really thought provoking and both linger long after you leave the page.

Your off-kilter composition really is a fine touch. The composition of the poem, too, is a fine touch.

Beautiful moon and soulful poem. I think our skies are one and the same...it is each of us who are different each day and night...shifting like the sky and the phases of the moon...light ever present even if sometimes it is hidden by clouds.

gentle steps,
Laura
